Different Leather Co is a one-person shop in North Carolina. This page explains what information this website collects and what happens to it. Short version: almost nothing, and I don’t sell your information to anyone.

What this website collects

This site has no accounts and no checkout. I don’t use analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies of my own.

The only information you can give me here is your email address, if you choose to sign up for updates. More on that below.

Like nearly every website, the company that hosts this site may keep standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the time of your visit. These are used to keep the site running and secure.

Email signup

If you sign up for updates, the form sends your email address to my inbox at differentleather@proton.me. That’s all it collects: no name, no address, nothing else.

I use your email only to tell you about new parks and shop news. I don’t sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone. Your signup passes through my web host’s email system on its way to me, and my inbox is hosted by Proton.

To keep bots from flooding the form, the site briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address when you sign up. It can’t be turned back into your real IP address, and it’s deleted after one hour.

To unsubscribe, reply to any email from me with “unsubscribe,” or email differentleather@proton.me, and I’ll remove you from my list.

Fonts from Google

This site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When it does, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which can see your IP address. Google describes how it handles that information in its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Buying on Etsy

All purchases happen on Etsy, not on this website. When you buy something, Etsy collects your name, shipping address, and payment details, and shares with me only what I need to make and ship your order, like your name and address. I use that information only to fill your order and answer your questions. Etsy’s privacy policy explains how it handles your information.

Links to other sites

This site links to Etsy, Instagram, and Pinterest. Once you click through, their privacy policies apply, not this one.

Children

This site isn’t aimed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

If you want to know what information I have about you, or want me to delete it, email differentleather@proton.me or message me on Etsy and I’ll take care of it. Etsy keeps its own order records, which you can manage through your Etsy account.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
